Partnering During Sunday Mornings

I really enjoy Sunday mornings at Trinity.  I enjoy the warm welcome my family always receives when we step through the front door, when we walk by all the tables, and then when we enter Kettering Hall and get our bulletins (for some reason everyone in my family–even Joel–must have his own bulletin). I love the fact that Joel looks forward to nursery and always has stories to tell about it. And I always look forward to the time after the service (once my sermon-adrenaline has subsided), when I can enjoy talking with friends and newcomers while munching on a tasty treat.

I’m deeply grateful for the many of you who over the course of the school year have volunteered to make Sunday mornings so delightful: for the greeters and ushers; for those who provide food for the fellowship time; for those who attend the various tables and sound board; and for those who serve in nursery or as teachers. I believe that the cheerful service that each of you brings helps reflect to us and to visitors the gracious hospitality of our God.

During the summer, filled with travel plans and various vacations, we need to share these Sunday morning responsibilities more widely. Would you please consider volunteering in one of these areas? By my count, for the 13 weeks of summer, we’ll need 11 volunteers each week, or 143 total volunteers. Rather conveniently, that’s almost exactly our current weekly attendance, which means if each of us serve on just one or two Sundays, we’ll fill all of our Sunday morning needs.

Signing up is as easy as talking to or emailing Tyra Bone, telling her the areas you’d be willing to serve and the dates you’re available. Once she has all of this information she (rather magically and mysteriously) puts together a schedule that makes it all work.

Thanks again for your partnership as together we seek in and through this church to exalt our Savior!
